		Bolshoi Theater Since its foundation towards the end of the 18th century, Moscow's celebrated Bolshoi Theater has experienced a turbulent and dramatic history. The forerunner of today's theater was Prince P.V. Urussov's Public Opera and Ballet Theater, commissioned by Catherine the Great in 1776 and financially backed by the Englishman Michael Maddox. The first of many disasters struck the theatre in 1805 when fire gutted the building, leaving it beyond repair and Maddox completely penniless. Ownership of the theater was then transferred to the state and Moscow acquired its first Imperial Theater. A Ballet rates are from 70 up to 140 USD. An opera rates are depending on the seats, from 50 up to 110 USD.
		Moscow State Big Circus The circus was opened on the 30th of April, 1971. Illusionists, clowns, kangaroo, monkeys, dogs, Ussurian and Bengalian tigers perform shows. There is a cafe in the circus. An amusements ground is next to the circus. The rates are from 45 up to 65 USD depending on the seats.
		Mariinsky (Kirov) opera house The opera and ballet companies are famous the world over. The repertoire includes such classics as Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin" and "Swan Lake" and works by Mozart, Verdi and Rossini. Other popular productions are Massenet's ballet "Manon" and the operas "Don Juan" by Mozart, "War and Peace" by Prokofiev and Wagner's "Das Rheingold". The latest productions are Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker" (with scenery by Mikhail Shemyakin), Puccini's "La Boheme" and Verdi's "Macbeth".
